About us

GBF was founded in 2019. The business idea was to optimize nutrient use and develop a profitable carbon sink cycle on farms in both developed and developing countries. With our biochar we were able to prove that we can reduce the amount of feed and thus make our contribution to the carbon sink.  Our team consists of six experts with the following tasks:

Balz Baur

Balz is a Swiss DI (environmental scientist, chemistry / microbiology) who has had a long career in the development of pyrolysis technology for biochar in Serbia. Its biochar is used for animal feed, anaerobic digesters, soil improvement and water treatment. He is the owner of Basna d.o.o. in Serbia a company that produces high quality biochar according to EBC / HACCP standards, which is suitable as animal feed.

Branko Petrujkic

Branko is a professor at the University of Belgrade's Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. He has over 10 years of experience optimizing animal feeding. It can be said that Branko is one of the world's leading researchers in biochar animal feed with fantastic results in reducing animal feed.

Rauno Karppinen

Rauno has been working in forestry for 35 years and is qualified to certify sustainable forests. He has also worked for several years in forest projects in developing countries, e.g. in Vietnam. Most recently he was managing director of the Forest Association in Ylä-Savo. Since he has an absolutely brilliant network in forest industry, he is responsible for forest and wood issues.

Jukka Koivisto

Jukka has over 40 years of experience working in developing countries. Last 19 year he lived in Saudi Arabia and is responsible for clients from the Middle East.

Risto Paajanen (MD)
